Hi Don, Welcome to my blog, I’m happy meet you and introduce
you to my readers. Let’s get started.
Don Simkovich, co-author Tom Stone Detective Stories
Title, genre, format (ebook, paperback):
(Book 1) Tom Stone: A Nitty Gritty Christmas
Tell me about your
book/story:
Cocaine stuffed in candy bars leads to Detective Tom Stone
to pursue a candy machine operator, Anthony Angelino, in this thriller. Stone
gets called to a home in Van Nuys, part of Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley to
investigate a disturbance.
Angelino slips away as a mobster shows up and opens fire on
Stone.
Word has it that a cocaine shipment is scheduled to arrive
at the Port of Long Beach and Stone tracks Angelino there for the book’s
climactic ending.
The storyline continues through
Book 2 Tom Stone: Sweltering Summer Nights and
Book 3 Tom Stone: Day of the Dead
What is the one thing
you’d like people to know about you (or, what is your secret superpower):
My wife and I have children and grandchildren of a few
different races, having adopted out of Los Angeles’ foster care system. The
topic is worked into the Tom Stone novels.
And just a few fun questions:
Pen or Computer:
Computer definitely, although I like to journal using a pen and cheap notebook.
Best writing snacks:
Grapes and an apple – while drinking coffee, tea, and water
– sometimes all 3 at once.
Craziest thing you’ve
done for story research:
Quite tame on this one, although I did have a nice chat with
a guy who spent 25 years in federal prison for drug smuggling and my godson is
currently in jail in Southern California. I’ve learned a lot from him.
Where can people find
your book/story:
The Tom Stone series is available on Amazon and other online
outlets.
We also have a short story Tom Stone: A Deadly Path – a
father-son hike leads to a madman’s murder confession.
